Product Overview
The Deep Wooden Frame with Black Plastic Foundation is engineered for brood chambers and deep honey supers in standard Langstroth hives. Each frame is crafted from carefully selected knot-free pine, precision-cut with mortise-and-tenon joinery, and fitted with a food-grade black HDPE plastic foundation. The dark foundation surface absorbs heat to accelerate comb building, while the precision cell imprint guides bees to draw straight, uniform comb — reducing cross-comb issues and maximizing usable comb area.

Material Details
The frame body is milled from knot-free pine sourced from sustainably managed Northern China plantations. Every top bar, bottom bar, and end bar is individually inspected for knots, pitch pockets, and grain irregularities. The black HDPE plastic foundation is injection-molded from virgin food-grade polyethylene — no recycled content, no BPA. Black is chosen intentionally: the darker surface absorbs solar radiation, warming the foundation by 2-4°C above ambient, which stimulates bees to draw comb faster. The hexagonal cell pattern is precision-engraved on hardened tool steel molds to maintain consistent cell-wall thickness across millions of impressions.
